Dick Jones who left the School in 1964 writes:
The enclosed picture that I recently came across is a RAF camp ? with the
group standing in front of a Victor ? bomber.
It shows Len Holder at
number 2 from the left, myself (R E Jones) next, Alan Foreward next but then my
memory fails me except for Mr Briscoe of course.
Dr Digby James provides this photo of the CCF parade day from, I would guess, 1968. I could name a few. Steve Chappell is in the middle I'm
behind him to the left. Osborne (with an 'e') is the corporal on the left. I could never remember his first name because everyone called
him 'Spaz'.
Pete Border adds: The Corporal is indeed Osborne, first row left to right are Richard Corby,
Steve Dear, Roger Bartlett and Steve Chappell. There is somebody next to
Digby, obscured from view by Steve Chappell, which is probably me as I was
in the same group.
Nigel Balchin suggests: On the CCF photo next to
Steve Chappell is Bartlett?? again and two away from him in the glasses is Corby.
Photo taken in the
early 70's "Arduous Training". I believe this one is in Leek, Staffs.
Quite
appropriate given Ross Kearns' posture in the background behind Mister Hill and
Colonel Howard-Jones.

I am sure like many I wish that we had the cameras or iphones (other brands are available) to have captured our experiences from years back.
Having to ration photos because of only having film with 12 images on the roll - and then wait days for the result.
Just a case is the photo I took at Arduous Training - that is what it was billed as - at Leek in 1973.
I have the original photo with everyone's nicknames on the back - including mine "Busby"

I attended the CCF camp
held in Duisburg in 1973. Excellent camp led by Mr. Reidler. Photo attached is
of Stalwarts swimming in the Rhine.

Greetings Michael:
You will recall that back in May you put me in
touch with Steve Blake who had enquired of you about Hampshire Regimental
badges. Well, Steve and I have had several interesting exchanges of e-mail,
thank you, out of which has come the attachment hereto which is said to be
the cap badge, in white metal, of Prices Cadets at some time.It is obviously
"our" lion (more correctly the lion of William Price's family heraldry) and
1721 is our founding. 1908 escapes me at the moment.
I don't know if we have an archivist at this
time but maybe you or someone has knowledge of the origin? Perhaps it was
not a cadet corps cap badge at all, but an early school cap emblem? (Before
the embroidered one that we all remember.) Or?
In any case it would be a nice picture to post
on the web!
